Meet the Voodoo team

Voodoo Combat is a Veteran owned Muay Thai gym offering coaching for all levels of experience. Our beginners class focuses on teaching students the fundamentals of Muay Thai striking while improving our members fitness, giving them the confidence to take their Muay Thai journey to the next level.

Our head coach Paul Warren brings over 30 fights worth of experience to our fighters class. Paul's experience in both the military and in combat sports will help you physically and mentally prepare for competing at the highest level.

​

Ryan's background specialises in strength and conditioning, recovery and mobility training, and has a passion for Muay Thai coaching and pad holding. Ryan's experience in the military brings a unique style of training. Focusing on students being physically and mentally prepared to step into the ring when they are ready to compete.

Meet Ryan

Ryan is the founder of Voodoo Combat. With 4-years of martial arts and 15-years military experience, Ryan brings a unique approach to training that focuses on individual skill development. 

Ryan's background in the fitness industry has helped him design programs for fighters to make sure they are both physically and mentally prepared to compete at the highest level.

Ryan brings a wealth of experience including qualifications in:

  • Cert III & IV Fitness - Master Trainer Course

  • Boxing & Kickboxing

  • Foam Rolling & Trigger Point Therapy

  • Diploma Enrolled Nursing

  • Diploma Paramedical Science

Meet Paul

Paul Warren is Voodoo Combats head Muay Thai coach.

​

Paul brings over 30 years of martial arts experience to the team. 

​

Paul began competing competitively in 1997, going on to have over 30 fights, winning 12 by way of stoppage. Paul's career highlights include winning 2 Queensland and 2 Australian titles.

 

In 2009 Paul was deployed to Afghanistan with the Australian Army where he suffered life threatening injuries which resulted with Paul losing his leg.

​

Paul credits his martial arts background with giving him the mental and physical resilience to overcome the injuries he sustained. 

​

Paul has coached both Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts fighters, specialising in mental resilience and mindset coaching.

​

Paul is excited to pass on everything he has learned to the new generation of people wanting to start their own journey in Muay Thai and combat sports.
